So... I Built a Whole Trading Card Platform

Okay so remember how I'm always complaining that non-sports card collecting has, like, negative infrastructure compared to sports cards? No unified checklist database. No real comps. Every breaker running their slot list off a Google Sheet held together with hope. I complained about this for probably two years straight before I finally did the annoying founder thing and just... built the thing I wanted.

It's called Crackwise, it's in beta, and I want you to break it.

What it actually is

At the core, Crackwise is a card catalog — the boring-sounding part that's secretly the whole point. Every set, every card, every parallel, with real checklist data instead of vibes. Right now that's:

• Marvel — 371 sets
• Star Wars — 337 sets
• DC Universe — 72 sets
• Disney — 6 sets
• VeeFriends — 6 sets

You can browse any of it, pull up a full checklist, and see recent sale prices without doing the thing where you have six eBay tabs open trying to figure out what a Rainbow parallel of a card you've never heard of actually sells for.

Well, getting real time comp data is actually very gatekept by eBay and the like so, thats a work in progress and hopefully we can appeal to their senses with some love from this project and gain access to their marketplace API. You get the intent, though.

Everything else on Crackwise is built on top of that catalog. Which brings me to the toolbox.

The toolbox (still very much beta — this is your invitation to poke holes in it)

The hobby already has its own language for this stuff — you rip a pack, you flip a card — so that's what I named things after. Consider this the "what does each button do" tour:

Ripsheet — for breakers. Turns your box into an actual organized break list instead of a spreadsheet you're praying doesn't have a typo in it. If you run breaks and have opinions about how slot lists should work (everyone does), this is the one I most want your feedback on.

Flipsheet — for anyone reselling individual cards on eBay. The idea is you pick the exact card and parallel from the catalog instead of typing out a listing title from memory, and Flipsheet builds you a listing — title, description, suggested price based on real comps — grounded in actual catalog data instead of an AI guessing what your card is from a blurry photo.

SketchSheet — the home for the artist side of things. Sketch cards, the artists behind them, that whole corner of the hobby that never really had a proper place to live online.

Bragsheet — exactly what it sounds like. A clean way to show off your pulls instead of a phone-camera photo with a thumb in frame.

Collection — a running tracker for what you actually own, instead of the mental list you're definitely misremembering half of.

Why beta, and why I'm telling you that out loud

Because it is beta, and pretending otherwise would be lying to you. Things will be janky. Some edge case is going to break in a way I didn't anticipate, because it always does. I'd rather you find that now, tell me, and I fix it — than have Crackwise look "done" and quietly disappoint everyone.
